         There is a general misconception in the industry that a vehicle is rated according to the generally accepted ballistic standards. This is NOT the case. There is no formal standard currently existing which applies to armored vehicles construction. Ballistic standards are a material specification only.

      Any material which can defeat the ballistic requirement will be compliant and can be certified as meeting that standard.  It is true that the vehicle manufacturers must use independently certified materials in construction of the vehicles, but it is HOW they do this that is the important factor. All vehicle manufacturers designs are not the same and the designs vary from company to company. Vehicle cost will also vary depending on the design that is used. It is IAG design which sets our vehicles apart from the rest.

VEHICLE DESIGNS

At IAG, we incorporate years of experience with constant design improvement to produce some of the safest protection vehicles available today.

BALLISTIC COMPATABILITY:

IAG vehicles utilize the same protection level materials in the roof components as for the rest of the vehicle. This ensures full passenger protection even if attacks are vertical (ie. From bridges or overpasses)

INTEGRAL DOOR & WINDOW OVERLAPS:

All window (transparent armor) areas are overlapped with ballistic steel. This ensures that the passenger compartment is protected even when attacked at the weaker areas.

INTEGRAL SPALL SHIELDS (Bullet Catchers):

IAG incorporates spall shields into the door and window overlaps to ensure that the passenger compartment retains full protection even when attacked on angle. Without this protection, occupants would be vulnerable in this common type of attack.

REINFORCED HINGES:

Our vehicles feature fully internally reinforced hinges from the same protection level materials as used in the main body of the vehicle. This guarantees that the hinges will transfer the excess door loads to the interior structure of the vehicle. The result is long lifetime of the door components and structure while maintaining alignment.

SMART-ARMOR (TM) TECHNOLOGY:

Unique to IAG is the ability of the design to fulfill multi-functional capabilities. Components are designed to be cost-effective, structural, permit ease of maintenance and provide superior ballistic resistance all in one package.

BOX WITHIN A BOX:

A finished IAG vehicle provides exceptional Roll-Over protection with the box within a box design. Since the armoring is fully connected throughout, the interior armoring actually becomes the new vehicle structure. It functions superior to a roll cage in the event of loss of control while evading attack.

RUN FLAT TIRES:

An important part of any protection vehicle is the ability to escape from an attack zone quickly. To ensure that this is possible, all vehicles are equipped with the latest run-flat devices in the tires. This permits continued driving even after an attack has deflated the tire.

IAG vehicles are used for years in hostile environments around the world with an exceptional safety record. The design provides full protection and escape capabilities as proven with hundreds of vehicles in use which are attacked regularly.

EASE OF MAINTENANCE:

Care has been taken in the designs to ensure easy maintenance. Most glass areas can be replaced with standard tools in a short time by utilizing bolted configuration.

FULL WARRANTY SUPPORT:

IAG vehicles are backed with a full 3 year or 60,000 km limited warranty against all armor components and workmanship.
